Tribute to Gerry Shields
In memory of Gerry Shields, remembered with great affection by all who knew him.
Donations in memory of Gerry will go to Ravenstonedale Community and Heritage Centre, which meant a great deal to him as part of village life. As his illness progressed, he attended coffee mornings and other gatherings there, providing much valued social connection in a place where he felt welcome, safe and cared for. Donations will support essential repairs to the building, including repointing, rendering and restoring the windows. Family flowers only.
A celebration of Gerry Shields' life
Gerry, formerly of Tarn House, Ravenstonedale passed away peacefully at Heron Hill Nursing Home on March 2nd 2026, aged 68 years. A loving and loved husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
A funeral service to celebrate his life will take place at St Oswald's Church, Ravenstonedale, on Monday 16th March at 11am, followed by burial in the churchyard.
